Lifestyle and Daily Shenanigans with a dash of Nerd Appreciation thrown in.
Willkommen!
Hello, there! I'm Mochizuki, a twenty-something year old Graphic & Web Design student located somewhere in America and welcome to Waiting for June a Lifestyle blog that occasionally gets a tad too personal, talks about cosmetics, and constantly the home for prattles about Bandcamp, nerd culture, and tea/coffee. It's a bit later than I actually wanted to get this out there and because of that I've added another topic of review in it.
Initially I was going to review Kiwiberry's store, but I went out yesterday with the wife, otto, and I ended up wearing the lens I got from PinkyParadise. So I just decided to review all three in the same post. I should also mention that while this post can be a bit photo heavy depending on how your computer runs, a lot of the photos from the lens review are old (as you can tell by the editing and colouring used) and this review was meant to be done way before 2012 was even close to ending. So, wootz for posting late reviews. and look! First review of the new year, that's always good.
Anyway, I have to say this before I go in. This is not a sponsored post nor has my opinion been influenced by any person or persons. These opinions and words are strictly my own and no one else. I am not getting paid to do this review in any manner, so please do not take post more than what it is...an opinion.\
So back in October, I ordered my second pair of contacts. The first pair I bought was from Born Pretty Store and those had an unfortunate end (they ripped), so I was hesitant in buying another pair of contacts . Eventually, I decided to give into my urges and ordered a pair but from a different store. After some deliberation, I decided to order from PinkyParadise. Which leads us into our first review.
PinkyParadise is described as:
PinkyParadise is the largest online circle lens store. We believe circle lens is more than just colored contact lens, it redefines the beauty boundaries of eye makeup. Even more, it tells people who you are. Your eyes speak with PinkyParadise.
PinkyParadise is by far one of the cleanest sites I've been to in such a long time. It's simple and cute and it has all the important information on the main page with being cluttered and overwhelming. If you don't already know, I despise sites with clutter. It does not look right and just makes me feel uncomfortable being on the site. Thankfully, PinkyParadise is not one of those uncomfortable feeling sites. Aside from the cleanliness and the adorable, the site is relatively simple to navigate. The navigation is smooth and everything is categorized efficiently. The one problem that I do have with the way the layout is, is that there are some sections that have products and their descriptions but the descriptions are larger than the product, so it stretches out the page more than it needs to be stretched out.
Since I ordered my lens on the 3rd of October, I expected to receive it around the 25th or something around that time. To my surprise, they arrived here on the 18th. It took 15 days. Why that is so shocking to me is that normally when I get packages from where PinkyParadise is located, it takes them a bit longer than 2 weeks...not that I mind waiting (I'm not impatient), so it was a bit shocking to me. It also added onto the fact that I got my DFD CDs the same day and I was feeling super excited.
I love the way PinkyParadise packaged the contacts. It was in a very small envelope, but it was definitely protected by the bubble wrap in it. Which was fun to pop, even if it was one of those bubble wrap envelopes and was hard to pop, still fun. Of course it was weird seeing it all bulged out, but it was protected and that is something that I definitely happy for cause I know some places aren't as intense about their protection as they are. Overall, I loved buying from PinkyParadise and I definitely have it bookmarked for future usage. Plus the animal contact cases are too cute.

Contact Lens Case & Wrapped Contacts
As you can see from above, the contacts came wrapped in a Styrofoam sheet and tapped down and the contact lens case came packaged in a simple plastic packaging. Both were pretty protected by the bubble wrapped envelope, but the fact that they took the extra step to wrap the lens' bottles was a huge bonus for me.
The front label of the lens' bottle.
Top of the lens' bottle. I love that it says "Super Nuday" instead of "Super Nudy". Oddly cute.
Since it hasn't already been stated, I ordered the Vassen Barbie Super Nudy Lens in Grey. I was avoiding dark blues, greens, and browns for the time being and since I'm a sucker for greys, I absolutely had to have these.
View of the lens from the bottom of the bottle.
Immediately, when I saw the colours...I was one part excited and one part nervous. The lens don't look as opaque as I prefer them to be in the bottle or in the lens' case. So I was worried that I would have problems with the colour lacing opacity and simply blending in with my eyes. But damn, I was definitely wrong here. Let's take a look, shall we?
One contact in; left in, right out
Both contacts in; natural light.
Top: One contact in; left contact in and natural light. (It looks like I have a lazy eye, but it's just the angle of the picture) Right: Both contacts in; with flash on.
Now, depending on the lighting of the room and how the sun hits the room, the visibility of the contacts are minimal. However, if you are in direct natural light, it shows up pretty well. If you follow me on instagram, you'd see a lot of pictures in which natural light shows the contacts almost perfectly. For example, here and here. On the flipside, the true colour of the lens are shown when in flash. When you actually put the contacts in, the grey is more opaque than it looks when you're looking into the bottle or looking at while it soaks in the solution. Unfortunately, the sizes of my eyes are very different (as you can tell in the final picture). My right eye is obviously smaller than my left, so the contact appears a bit bigger in that eye, even when I do open that eye as wide as possible. But that is just a thing with my eyes and from a distance it isn't obvious.
These lens are definitely comfortable and if you put them on wrong, you'll immediately know because the discomfort is immediate which is perfect. They are a lot more opaque than I expected, but not unnaturally opaque. To continue about naturalness, it is definitely one of the more natural colours you can get in lens as I've had several people think that my lens are natural and that my eyes were actually that colour. I can normally go about 4 or 5 hours before I start to feel them drying out and start to get uncomfortable. Unfortunately with these lens, when they dry out, your eyes dry out with them. It's completely terrible and I find myself wishing that I could just go home and take these them when it gets to that point. Even though I do carry my lens case and solution with me always, I prefer to keep my lens in until I get home as opposed to taking them out when I'm out. Plus, eye drops are incredibly helpful when the discomfort gets annoying and I'm gonna be out for a bit longer. In fact, after a couple drops on eye drops, the discomfort gets tons better.
Overall, I do like them a lot. Maybe I'll try more in the series and see how I like the others in comparison.
Pros:
» Rather opaque when wearing.
» Comfortable.
» Discomfort is immediately known.
» Pretty natural.
» Simple, yet gorgeous design.
» Enlargement is not too much. (It's 14.5mm)
Cons:
» Long wear not recommended unless eyedrops are on hand.
» Discomfort begins under 6 hours.
» Doesn't seem opaque in bottle or while in solution.

Hello, there!
Welcome to Waiting for June. Waiting for June is a Lifestyle Blog that focuses predominantly on daily life shenanigans and nerd culture, but occasionally dabbles in health & beauty, food, and prattling about serious topics.
Waiting for June is the sixth iteration of the same blog with a different name and structure. The original iteration of this blog was started back in November of 2012 as a purely Beauty and Lifestyle blog under the name Monochromatics which later got abandoned and restarted under the name sumeoseo. With sumeoseo came more beauty and review based blog which quickly lost its appeal. From that point on, there were three name changes, multiple hiatuses, and two blog changes before coming to where we are now.
Throughout this journey, I've learned that this blog shouldn't be limited to what I feel fits in with what I read from other bloggers nor should I put myself in a position to compromise my integrity and the feeling of transparency that I feel should always be there. I've also learned that blogging is probably never going to be a huge source of income the way I always expected it to be. So when I finally returned back to blogging with a fresh blog and an equally fresh name, I decided to make this blog about anything that I wanted to and break the mold of trying to fit into the mold. I can only imagine where this experience is going to take me.

Hello, there!
Welcome to the little about me section of the blog. If it isn't obvious by now, I'm Mochizuki and I'm kind of pretty important here. Admittedly, Mochizuki is a nom de plume, but I digress. I'm currently somewhere in my twenty-somethings and doing that thing where I'm learning how to be a proper adult while balancing being a student and a worker. Speaking of school, I'm a Graphic Design major who's concentration is Web Design and I take my classes online. If I'm being honest here, I do everything online because of my apprehension towards too much social interaction.
I'm typically reading something, playing a video game, watching anime, or something otherwise nerdy because that's how I roll. I don't engage with people unless I'm positive there is something in common there simply because I don't want to make it weird for anyone involved. That said, the reason I originally created this blog, or rather, any of my blogging adventures, was so that I could engage with people wo share the same interests as me while simultaneously sharing my own things with people.
I'm not terribly good at about me's, so expect this to be updated sporadically in a lot of ways.
The little spots on the internet that I read to pass time.

A clear and concise guide on how reviews are approached and written.
This blog touches on and is dedicated to a variety of topics including: daily life, cosmetics, my journey to being a healthier me, music, books, anime, et cetera; however, a large chunk of the content found here are some form of review be they miniature reviews or full blown, in-depth reviews. Because of this, this blog has decided to implement and share it's review policy.
Please note that this policy is liable to change at any point in time, so do constantly check back before sending inquiries to kurahge@outlook.com.
Depending on the workload and the type of product is received, at any given time, multiple products can be in queue to be reviewed.
Depending on the product, the amount of time for a review to be posted varies. Typically, the length of time is as follows: anything health or beauty releated will take between 5 days and 1 week, books take between 3 days and 5 days, music and movie reviews take between 1 to 2 days, and most other reviews are variant depending on the situation at hand.
Products are predominantly purchased with my own money. On the off chance that the product or prodcuts were provided to me, there is always a note at the top of post and as well as text within the post that acknowledges such. Despite being provided a product or not, the opinions are honest and valid.
As of April 14th, 2016, there has been a change in how reviews are formatted. If working with a product that has a list of ingredients (health, beauty, cosmetics, etcetera), there will be a graphic that lists the ingredients out of respect and transparency for the readers.
Photos for reviews, particularly health and beauty related, are unedited and provided in a clear manner to help show what results occurred (if any.)
If at any point, a review is rushed despite being informed of and knowing the review policy of this blog, I will drop the review and pay for the product accordingly. I am a college student and a full-time worker, blogging is a bit of side project no matter how much I wish it otherwise, so my time is a bit crammed. Basically, rushing will terminate any agreement we may have unless it's valid (meaning absolutely my fault.)
It's a bit later than I actually wanted to get this out there and because of that I've added another topic of review in it.
