Review Products: These are the products I'll be reviewing in this post. Makeup Mist & Set, Daily Moisture Stick, and Mineral Infused Primer all by e.l.f cosmetics.
Yo minna! I'm so sorry. I was posting consistently and then I just poofed, however, I promise it was for good reasoning. Did you notice that we've gotten a new layout and a new blog url around here? Actually, I'm quite unhappy with the layout right now, but I felt like it was enough to get me through the next month or so. I felt so utterly rusty while coding this layout, but I hope you all enjoy it and dont find many problems. Also, noticed the new blog name? Humbled Waves. Ugh, I could not resist naming something after the amazing Turn Off Your Television, who I'll be doing a review of in the near future, and so I chose one of my favourite songs by them and gave it a more whimsical, Yasu-ish air to accompany this blog? Nonetheless. This blog is named after the song, "Humble Waves" and I absolutely adore it for several reasons. Listen to the song and if you know me, you'll definitely understand the love for this song.
Also, I turned 20 years old 5 days ago. So that's another reason for my absence. Just reveling in being one year closer to being able to legally drink here in America. Whooo. I have a post planned for turning twenty, but it'll come either sometime within the next two days or the next week depending on how my mind feels. And if you can't already tell, it's totally going to be a text heavy and more personal post.
If you can't already tell from the image above, I'll be reviewing three products today. Those three products are e.l.f cosmetics' Makeup Mist & Set, Daily Moisture Stick, and the Mineral Infused Primer. So let's not waste anymore time and jump right into this, yes?
Disclosure Statement: The products in this post were not provided to me as a PR sample nor am I being compensated in any way, shape, or form. The opinions in this post are not influenced in the slightest and are honest as well as based on my own personal experience.

Wish you could have a product for your makeup like Hairspray is for your hair? Well…keep your makeup staying in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold with our new Makeup Mist & Set. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading.
Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touchup to refresh. After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry.
So let's chat about this Makeup Mist & Set. I will start out by saying this, if you're someone who enjoys using a setting spray that smells like flowers and butterflies and a lovely field of daisies on a lovely Spring Day, this setting spray is not for you. Now, I've mentioned this quite a few times that I don't enjoy putting things on my face that smell bad, the only exceptions being made for things like foundations or tinted moisturisers (it's rare, but I do give exception for those particular cosmetics) and normally, I wouldn't use this setting spray more than once. However, this is the only setting product I have as I only use one of each product when I'm in the midst of reviewing things and I haven't replaced my older setting spray. Again, if you're like me and smell is a huge thing to you, I will definitely recommend you avoid this particular product. I can't particularly describe the scent as anything but the scent of cosmetics and if you've ever smelled scented cosmetics and unscented cosmetics, you'll understand what I mean by that.
The e.l.f cosmetics website says that you should hold this spray anywhere from 12 to 16 inches from the face, which is the extent of an average arm. I definitely can co-sign on this. Hold it a complete arm's length from your face as you spray. Why? This product has a lot of liquidity to it. The spray is rather intense and if applied too close, too much will spray out and in one distinct area. The intense amount of liquid that sprays out will smudge your makeup (because, let's be real...the fore of air against liquid is a twat). In fact, the first two times I used the spray, I got lazy and didn't hold the bottle at the appropriate length and I actually ending up having my mascara smudge. Thankfully, a little dab with a makeup sponge with my foundation on it saved the day. Nonetheless, that's something you really need to look out for. This is genuinely one of those products that you can't be like "Fuck it. Too lazy to adhere to the advice today." ...unless you feel like redoing your makeup, then go for it.
The staying power of this spray is unsurprisingly, well...at least to me, not very long. It last about 3-4 hours before it starts to wear off and it's because of that why I carry it around alongside my other daily makeup, that way if need be, I can touch up at any moment. The staying power is even weaker if you're an excessive sweater. As I am an excessive sweater, due to my body adjusting to temperatures oddly, most setting sprays or powders don't have a longing effect for me. So if you sweat a lot, you may want to either pass on this or do what I do and carry around with you. If you choose the second option, thankfully the bottle is not that big and can fit in most of the medium sized makeup bags.
What was a huge winner for me was that when it did stay, I rather enjoyed the finish it gave my skin. Once the liquid dried, I recommend staying a couple steps away from a fan and eyes closed to have it dry quicker, I thought my skin looked almost like satin. It was nice for how long it lasted.
Pros:
→ Price.
→ Decent amount for a 60ml bottle.
→ Gives skin a satin like finish (may not work for all skin types).
Cons:
→ Staying power is not too long.
→ Frequent touch ups needed.
→ Almost too much liquidity.
→ Scent may be off-putting to some.
→ Not the best product for people who excessively sweat or are wet in any manner.
→ Smudges if sprayed from a close distance.
twoout offive
→ While I love e.l.f cosmetics, this product actually let me down a lot. I wouldn't recommend it unless you were someone who stays on top of their routine and follows the advice for this product down pact nor if you're excessively and easily made to sweat. The staying power is not fantastic, but it's not horrible. It is listed as a con for me as, again, I'm a bit lazy and I do enjoy not having to touch up for hours and hours on end. Although it is has a lot of liquidity to it, the finish is rather nice. Also, for the price you pay...it makes sense. It is only 3$, after all.
Daily Moisture Stick is an easy to use clear gel formulation that nourishes and hydrates the skin. This light-weight and soothing multi-purpose balm is enriched with antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients including ? Grape, Cocoa, Shea, Avocado, Macadamia, Aloe and Chamomile. The sleek, convenient packaging is perfect for travel and everyday use to condition and moisturize skin, both at home and on the go!
Twist up and apply to the face in a circular motion prior to makeup application. Great for use on dry or chapped hands, elbows and knees.
Aaah—e.l.f cosmetics' Daily Moisture Stick. Out of all the products I've used so far, the Daily Moisture Stick is one of my favourites hands down. Of course there are some cons to it, which I'll get to shortly, but overall, it is such a lovely product. But let's just jump into this before I go bonkers with acting like a fandork.
Where to start? First things first, the e.l.f cosmetics website says that to use, you should apply it to the face in a circular motion before applying your makeup. That is true, however not really as in depth as it should be. In order to get the product from the stick to your skin/body, you need to apply it in a circular motion or it'll be hard to get anything on the patch of skin you're aiming to put it on. However, in order to get it to properly settle, you actually have to go back and rub it in. Due to the fact that it's a bit like Vaseline, you do have you rub it a good bit to get it in. As it settles it, it start to become less and less like Vaseline and thins out. It is also really, really lightweight. Normally, moisturisers are slightly heavy against my skin, like I always know it's there, but with this product, I'd sometimes forget it was there until I'd rake through my mind and remember it.
On top of the that, the real seller for me is how soft my skin feels after I apply this. Of course, I'd recommend washing your face with your exfoliator and whatever else you may use and then follow that up with this moisturiser; I guarantee that nine times out of ten, your face will feel like a baby's bum. No joke. Another bonus for me was that no matter how much I actually applied to my face, I still have not even begun to dent this product. How bloody amazing is that? Man, I live for these products that more is less and less is more. So good to me.
A let down for me, although not major, is the scent. When in its stick form, the scent of the moisturiser is rather interesting. It smells almost like plastic, like the plastic you smell when you open certain containers. That intense plastic smell. However, the smell does not last long after applying. In fact, I only smelled it when I sniffed the product, applying it I barely, if ever, smelled it. If you have a habit of smelling your products before use, much like I do, you'll definitely be put off by the scent of it. Another and really, the only other major con I have with this product is that after rubbing it into your skin with your hand, although it may be light and soft against your skin, it leaves a slightly greasy trail on your hands. You'll need a towel (preferably dry) to wipe your hands afterwards, but thankfully, it's not too much and tends to wipe off easily.
Pros:
→ Price.
→ Lightweight.
→ Leaves skin feeling incredibly soft.
→ Little to no major scent whatsoever.
→ Applies on really thinly.
→ Comparable to vaseline when applying, but goes on smoothly.
→ A lot of product in such a small bottle.
→ Not a lot product will be used in one full sitting.
Cons:
→ The smell of the stick is horrible (until application).
→ Takes a good bit of rubbing/applying product to completely get a thin coat on larger areas (like the face).
→ Can leave a slightly greasy feel on your hands after application.
→ You'll need to rub it in after you apply it to each section of your body.
three point fiveout offive
→ Without a single shred of a doubt, I would definitely recommend this. Not only is it inexpensive, pricing at only 6$ at the e.l.f cosmetics website, but it's a lovely product. I'm not quite sure how it will work for anyone, but I can only really say positive things about this product. The only reasons I docked was because of the smell and because of the slightly greasy feeling it left behind on my hands. Other than those two things, this is a lovely product and I'll definitely be buying it again.
Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.
Features a new and improved air pump! For best results, you may need to pump the component several times before product dispenses.
Recommended uses:
• Tone Adjusting Green is ideal for minimizing redness and correcting blotchy skin.
• Brightening Lavender is ideal for uneven skin tones and to brighten dull or yellow tones.
• Radiant Glow is ideal for creating a luminizing effect on dark spots and uneven skin tones.
Apply to clear skin prior to makeup application. Use a small amount and blend evenly all over the face for a smooth and flawless base. For best results, you may need to pump the component several times before product dispenses.
Final product time! And you know what they say: Save the best for last. I must admit that the Mineral Infused Face Primer is definitely my favourite of the bunch (so far). Almost everything about it is lovely, in my honest opinion, and I get so much life from this. So before I go ahead with this review, I need to point out that this primer comes in 4 different variations: Clear, Tone Adjusting Green, Brightening Lavender, and Radient Glow. For this particular review, I've been using the Clear primer. I'm such a simpleton, I know.
What I absolutely adore about this product is how soft and lightweight it is. For some reason, most of the products from e.l.f'sStudio Collection is incredily soft and lightweight against my skin and I absolutely live for it. When it comes to primers I love primers that are not only soft when they are settled in, but overall soft, even before application. I think the fact that this primer comes out as a soft gel like substance and once rubbed out feels like pure softness, is absolutely amazing to me. As you can see from the third picture, when rubbed out, it actually makes the skin look a bit brighter than it normally does. In fact, I purposely shied away from lotioning my hands so you can see how not only brightenng this primer is, but moisturising as well. Honestly, if I could, I'd wear the primer as lotion and be content with it. The primer is easy to apply and there's barely any mess left behind, the only problem being is that, again like the moisture stick, there's a slightly greasy feeling left behind on your hands (but for me, most primers that you have to rub in are like that). Sometimes, I go without foundation and concealer and just un out with liner, mascara, lip gloss, and lip stick cause the primer makes me feel lovely just going naked and without all the extra stuff.
Again, there's no major cons with this product for me, save for the greasy left behind and that's something that's easy to clean and that I can pretty much get over.
Pros:
→ Price.
→ Soft.
→ Lightweight.
→ Can be worn without wearing makeup over it.
→ Comfortable.
→ Extremely easy application and lack of a mess.
→ No scent.
→ Brightening.
→ Moisturising.
Cons:
→ Leaves behind a slightly greasy feeling.
fourout offive
→ Much like the Daily Moisture Stick, I am absolutely and terribly in love with this product. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a primer that provides a soft, lightweight finish and leaves feeling like "Dang, is today the day I saunter out there without foundation or minimal makeup? Yaass, hunny. I am getting life today." Again, points were docked off because of the left over greasy feeling, but other than that, there is no other con for me and thus, it got a higher rating than the Daily Moisture Stick. Also, it's only 6$. Yes, please.
Man, this one was such a doozy of a post. It actually took me about 3 days total to type up this post. A lot of the time was spent making the images for the post and worrying about appropriate formatting, I ended up having to go back and alter the layout's CSS to fit what I was doing for this review as well as future reviews. I am so utterly exhausted and tired at this point and while I love doing this, if I ever try to do three product reviews in sitting ever again, punch me in the throat. ...Seriously.
Question time! ♥

Hello, there!
Welcome to Waiting for June. Waiting for June is a Lifestyle Blog that focuses predominantly on daily life shenanigans and nerd culture, but occasionally dabbles in health & beauty, food, and prattling about serious topics.
Waiting for June is the sixth iteration of the same blog with a different name and structure. The original iteration of this blog was started back in November of 2012 as a purely Beauty and Lifestyle blog under the name Monochromatics which later got abandoned and restarted under the name sumeoseo. With sumeoseo came more beauty and review based blog which quickly lost its appeal. From that point on, there were three name changes, multiple hiatuses, and two blog changes before coming to where we are now.
Throughout this journey, I've learned that this blog shouldn't be limited to what I feel fits in with what I read from other bloggers nor should I put myself in a position to compromise my integrity and the feeling of transparency that I feel should always be there. I've also learned that blogging is probably never going to be a huge source of income the way I always expected it to be. So when I finally returned back to blogging with a fresh blog and an equally fresh name, I decided to make this blog about anything that I wanted to and break the mold of trying to fit into the mold. I can only imagine where this experience is going to take me.

Hello, there!
Welcome to the little about me section of the blog. If it isn't obvious by now, I'm Mochizuki and I'm kind of pretty important here. Admittedly, Mochizuki is a nom de plume, but I digress. I'm currently somewhere in my twenty-somethings and doing that thing where I'm learning how to be a proper adult while balancing being a student and a worker. Speaking of school, I'm a Graphic Design major who's concentration is Web Design and I take my classes online. If I'm being honest here, I do everything online because of my apprehension towards too much social interaction.
I'm typically reading something, playing a video game, watching anime, or something otherwise nerdy because that's how I roll. I don't engage with people unless I'm positive there is something in common there simply because I don't want to make it weird for anyone involved. That said, the reason I originally created this blog, or rather, any of my blogging adventures, was so that I could engage with people wo share the same interests as me while simultaneously sharing my own things with people.
I'm not terribly good at about me's, so expect this to be updated sporadically in a lot of ways.

A clear and concise guide on how reviews are approached and written.
This blog touches on and is dedicated to a variety of topics including: daily life, cosmetics, my journey to being a healthier me, music, books, anime, et cetera; however, a large chunk of the content found here are some form of review be they miniature reviews or full blown, in-depth reviews. Because of this, this blog has decided to implement and share it's review policy.
Please note that this policy is liable to change at any point in time, so do constantly check back before sending inquiries to kurahge@outlook.com.
Depending on the workload and the type of product is received, at any given time, multiple products can be in queue to be reviewed.
Depending on the product, the amount of time for a review to be posted varies. Typically, the length of time is as follows: anything health or beauty releated will take between 5 days and 1 week, books take between 3 days and 5 days, music and movie reviews take between 1 to 2 days, and most other reviews are variant depending on the situation at hand.
Products are predominantly purchased with my own money. On the off chance that the product or prodcuts were provided to me, there is always a note at the top of post and as well as text within the post that acknowledges such. Despite being provided a product or not, the opinions are honest and valid.
As of April 14th, 2016, there has been a change in how reviews are formatted. If working with a product that has a list of ingredients (health, beauty, cosmetics, etcetera), there will be a graphic that lists the ingredients out of respect and transparency for the readers.
Photos for reviews, particularly health and beauty related, are unedited and provided in a clear manner to help show what results occurred (if any.)
If at any point, a review is rushed despite being informed of and knowing the review policy of this blog, I will drop the review and pay for the product accordingly. I am a college student and a full-time worker, blogging is a bit of side project no matter how much I wish it otherwise, so my time is a bit crammed. Basically, rushing will terminate any agreement we may have unless it's valid (meaning absolutely my fault.)
