Lifestyle and Daily Shenanigans with a dash of Nerd Appreciation thrown in.
Willkommen!
Hello, there! I'm Mochizuki, a twenty-something year old Graphic & Web Design student located somewhere in America and welcome to Waiting for June a Lifestyle blog that occasionally gets a tad too personal, talks about cosmetics, and constantly the home for prattles about Bandcamp, nerd culture, and tea/coffee. To find out more about blog and the blogger, click here.
Thank you so much for visiting and reading Waiting for June! If you like what we do here and want to help support the addiction of the blogger, you should look into spoiling the blog and its creator with coffee and gifts by using the links below. Even if you don't, you're still pretty dope for visiting, reading, enjoying, et cetera.
Hey everyone! (I was sorely tempted to say "Konbankwanzakahmasuka, minna-san", but I didn't. You're welcome.) Now, before I properly jump into this post, I want to talk about something shortly. There was a post I made that I posted yesterday, but I quickly pulled it back in as a draft. If you managed to catch it before I retracted it, I apologize for the mistakes and intense amount of typos in that post and that was the reason I retracted it. The amount of typos and mistakes in the post made me cringe, so I decided to take it back and edit it. So if a post randomly pops up after this one, then you know why.
Now, that we have that all cleared up, let's talk about this post. Today's a bit of a shocking post, yeah? The last time I did a proper review was on March 23 with me reviewing EOS' Adult Red circle lenses and in that time, I just hadn't had the spark to do anything review related. It felt like I was completely turned away from everything I had grown accustomed to doing with this blog and it was a bit saddening. Deciding to change that, I stumbled upon Brand Backer, a site that helps fashion and beauty brands connect with bloggers in hopes of gaining more exposure, by chance and I thought this would be a perfect way to jump back into this.
가자!(Translation:Let's go!)
The products in this post were sent to me by a company for reviewing purposes. Although this is the case, the words and opinions written here are mine and mine only. I have not been influenced in any way, shape, or manner, nor have I been promised compensation of any kind to write a favourable review. Again, all opinions and words are my own and as they are mine and mine alone, they should be taken as they are.
Product Name: BA★STAR Stardust Loose Mineral Shadow Product Colours: Bronze, Diamond, Chocolate, Apricot, Petal Pink Lavender, Deep Plum, Gold Star, and Steel. Weight: 5 ounces. Other Information: Loose Mineral Shadow, Soft Shimmer, Super Hold Use Glue Base
As I mentioned earlier, I up and decided to join Brand Backer because I thought it'd be great to have means and reason to jump back into reviews due to the usage of campaigns. Anyway, the first campaign I requested to join was for BA STAR's Stardust Mineral Eye Shadow. The main reason I joined the campaign was because this product looked like everything I normally shy away from: obnoxiously glittery, loose powder, and intensely bright and in your face. So I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. A huge part of me also didn't expect to get accepted to the campaign, so imagine my shocked when I got an email that said I had been accepted and I should expect my samples within a week or so.
When my package came, I actually held off on doing anything with it because I've been busy lately, especially with the fact that I'm supposed to be moving soon, I didn't want to get started on something I couldn't finish. When I did finally open the package and looked everything over, I realised that I was completely right with my first assumption of the shadow; it's intensely bright, obnoxiously glittery, and very loose. Nonetheless was kind of desperate to test it out.
When I first opened the package, the first thing I saw was actually the shimmer base. At first glance, I was totally excited to test out this shimmer base because it reminded me of everyday normal eye shadow primer. If you can't already tell, I adore primers for no apparent reason aside from just like them. So again, complete excitement to test this out. Now, before I test out anything I have a strong tendency to read the packaging thoroughly; both front and back.
After reading the back of shimmer base, you'd expect it to be more liquefied than it actually it. Despite it being a glue based base, the thickness of it is actually quite bothersome and takes a bit of rubbing in to actually get it to settle. Then you have to allow it to dry before you can apply the glitter to it. If you don't, you can actually rub it off. On the top of that, the rub out is awful, if you did arts and crafts at some point in time in your life and got Elmer's Glue or any stick glue on your hand you understand. When you peel or rub off the glue, it rubs off as if you're rubbing off dead/dirty skin. It's terribly, terribly disconcerting.
I will say this though, when the base is set and is not as tacky as it was previously, it holds up. It actually makes the shadow seem more pigmented because of it and that is a huge bonus for me. So it's not all bad, but it is something that I recommend they work on. The tackiness can be a bit uncomfortable when drying and that is really no fun whatsoever.
On to the shadow. The shadow I got sent was Bronze Star Dust and like I mentioned earlier, this shadow is all that expected it to be. It's glittery, bright, intense, and overall obnoxious. While I'm not a huge fan of glittery products (in fact, I despise glitters the most for various reasons side from me just not liking glitter), I have to admit that this shadow does win me over slightly because of it's pigmentation and its staying power. True to glitter standards, the shadow does leave a trail in it's wake. However, it is easy to clean up, easier than any other glitter base product I've used.
The shadow itself has one major flaw for me and that's the fall out. The fall out is so finicky: one moment there's barely any fall out and other times, the fall out is so intense that I have to stop using it. Even in the picture above, you can already see fall out and it hasn't even been touched yet. Yes, this is a loose powder, but I've used loose powders before, but this particular powder might be a bit too loose for my likings.
While I complain and about the glittery of the shadow and the fall out, I cannot deny that the colour is absolutely beautiful. Like I mentioned earlier, it's really pigmented (which is a huge bonus). The opaqueness of the shadow makes me want to sob in complete happiness. Also, the application is pretty much flawless as the fall out only really occurs when you're opening the container and when you're gathering it on your brush or finger but other than that...it's all good. Now, since this is my experience and mine alone, you may have more trouble.
To avoid some mishaps, I will say this: Avoid touching this shadow if your hands and/or brush is wet. Liquid + glitter = more of a mess, harder clean up, and a huge no-go. Trust me. Also, tap the brush or your finger against the container lightly to get any stray bits of the shadow and prevent fall out from getting into your eyes (holy crap does glitter in the eye burn badly!) If you happen to get even the smallest bit of glitters into your eye, pause whatever it is you're doing and go flush your eye. Pretty much anything that gets into your eye, especially glitters, are a irritant to the eyes.
So here's the skinny, I absolutely adore these shadows despite how obnoxious they seem at first glance. They are opaque, pigmented, and go on easily. They can be used to achieve natural looks or you can layer them and make them intense and out there. They also last for quite a bit, but cleaning can be relatively easy. However, the fall out and the fact that the more you layer the shadow, the more glittery it is can be two major downfalls to this shadow. Not to mention that the shimmer base takes for ever to get out of that extremely tacky state and just the right amount of tackiness to be workable. I would recommend you use your own shadow primer rather than this "Super Hold Glue".
Until next time, lovies. Remember, I love you like I love cream cheese frosting. Well, I love you like I love strawberry cake topped with cream cheese frosting. Nomnomz.

Hello, there!
Welcome to Waiting for June. Waiting for June is a Lifestyle Blog that focuses predominantly on daily life shenanigans and nerd culture, but occasionally dabbles in health & beauty, food, and prattling about serious topics.
Waiting for June is the sixth iteration of the same blog with a different name and structure. The original iteration of this blog was started back in November of 2012 as a purely Beauty and Lifestyle blog under the name Monochromatics which later got abandoned and restarted under the name sumeoseo. With sumeoseo came more beauty and review based blog which quickly lost its appeal. From that point on, there were three name changes, multiple hiatuses, and two blog changes before coming to where we are now.
Throughout this journey, I've learned that this blog shouldn't be limited to what I feel fits in with what I read from other bloggers nor should I put myself in a position to compromise my integrity and the feeling of transparency that I feel should always be there. I've also learned that blogging is probably never going to be a huge source of income the way I always expected it to be. So when I finally returned back to blogging with a fresh blog and an equally fresh name, I decided to make this blog about anything that I wanted to and break the mold of trying to fit into the mold. I can only imagine where this experience is going to take me.

Hello, there!
Welcome to the little about me section of the blog. If it isn't obvious by now, I'm Mochizuki and I'm kind of pretty important here. Admittedly, Mochizuki is a nom de plume, but I digress. I'm currently somewhere in my twenty-somethings and doing that thing where I'm learning how to be a proper adult while balancing being a student and a worker. Speaking of school, I'm a Graphic Design major who's concentration is Web Design and I take my classes online. If I'm being honest here, I do everything online because of my apprehension towards too much social interaction.
I'm typically reading something, playing a video game, watching anime, or something otherwise nerdy because that's how I roll. I don't engage with people unless I'm positive there is something in common there simply because I don't want to make it weird for anyone involved. That said, the reason I originally created this blog, or rather, any of my blogging adventures, was so that I could engage with people wo share the same interests as me while simultaneously sharing my own things with people.
I'm not terribly good at about me's, so expect this to be updated sporadically in a lot of ways.
The little spots on the internet that I read to pass time.

A clear and concise guide on how reviews are approached and written.
This blog touches on and is dedicated to a variety of topics including: daily life, cosmetics, my journey to being a healthier me, music, books, anime, et cetera; however, a large chunk of the content found here are some form of review be they miniature reviews or full blown, in-depth reviews. Because of this, this blog has decided to implement and share it's review policy.
Please note that this policy is liable to change at any point in time, so do constantly check back before sending inquiries to kurahge@outlook.com.
Depending on the workload and the type of product is received, at any given time, multiple products can be in queue to be reviewed.
Depending on the product, the amount of time for a review to be posted varies. Typically, the length of time is as follows: anything health or beauty releated will take between 5 days and 1 week, books take between 3 days and 5 days, music and movie reviews take between 1 to 2 days, and most other reviews are variant depending on the situation at hand.
Products are predominantly purchased with my own money. On the off chance that the product or prodcuts were provided to me, there is always a note at the top of post and as well as text within the post that acknowledges such. Despite being provided a product or not, the opinions are honest and valid.
As of April 14th, 2016, there has been a change in how reviews are formatted. If working with a product that has a list of ingredients (health, beauty, cosmetics, etcetera), there will be a graphic that lists the ingredients out of respect and transparency for the readers.
Photos for reviews, particularly health and beauty related, are unedited and provided in a clear manner to help show what results occurred (if any.)
If at any point, a review is rushed despite being informed of and knowing the review policy of this blog, I will drop the review and pay for the product accordingly. I am a college student and a full-time worker, blogging is a bit of side project no matter how much I wish it otherwise, so my time is a bit crammed. Basically, rushing will terminate any agreement we may have unless it's valid (meaning absolutely my fault.)
